1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. We also use similar technologies such as local storage. This policy explains what we use and why.
2. Categories we use
| Category | Purpose | Can you disable it? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Keeping you signed in, remembering security settings, load balancing | No — required for the Service to function |
| Functional | Remembering preferences such as light/dark mode | Yes, through your browser settings |
| Analytics | Understanding aggregate usage of our marketing site, to improve it | Yes, with your consent |
We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
3. Third-party cookies
Where we use an analytics provider, that provider may set its own cookies subject to its own privacy policy. We do not permit third-party advertising cookies on our marketing site or in the Formentic app. For our Clients' forms, see section 4.
4. Cookies on our Clients' forms
Our Clients publish forms with Formentic on their own Salesforce Marketing Cloud pages. There, Formentic acts for the Client, and the Client's own cookie and privacy notices apply. Formentic's form code uses at most these first-party cookies, each only where the form needs it:
| Cookie | Purpose | Kept |
|---|---|---|
| formentic_visit | The page the visit started on and the page the visitor came from, for forms that record them | 30 minutes |
| fp_ab_… | Which version of an A/B test the visitor saw, so they see the same one again | 90 days |
| formentic_consent | The visitor's answer to Formentic's cookie banner, on forms that use it | 6 months |
Each Client chooses whose consent these cookies wait for: its own consent tool, or Formentic's cookie banner (Accept, Reject or Settings; a Cookie settings button under the form, or in the page's footer, opens it again so the visitor can change their choice at any time). A Client can let them be set at once only after confirming that its pages don't need consent for them. Formentic's form code sets no advertising cookies.
A Client may also add its own tag manager or consent tool to its form pages by its ID (for example Google Tag Manager, Adobe Launch, Cookie Information, Cookiebot or OneTrust). Formentic then loads only that vendor's own code, after setting Google Consent Mode to deny everything until the visitor agrees, unless the Client has confirmed that no consent is needed. Formentic sends these tools form events, such as that a form was viewed or sent, with the names of fields but never the answers. What the tools then do, and the cookies they set, is decided by the Client and covered by the Client's own notice.
5. Your choices
Where consent is required by law, we ask for it before setting non-essential cookies, through cookie settings. You can withdraw consent at any time through that same control, or by clearing cookies in your browser. We honour Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals where required by law.
6. Changes
We may update this policy as our use of cookies changes. We will post the new version with an updated "Last updated" date.
